The DITA Exchange solution is implementing the DITA standard on top of the new Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS) and is sold on a per seat per month basis as a SaaS solution or as an internal solution.

DITA Exchange operates in a complete browser-based environment thereby lowering the entry barrier for SME's. If fact nobody needs to understand XML or DITA to write meaningful DITA content in DITA Exchange. The average training required is 4-8 hours depending on the type of user.

DITA Exchange comes with the following features:

• Compose DITA maps in a user-friendly browser-based environment and set references to existing reusable topics.
• Create and edit DITA topics in a user-friendly browser-based environment.
• Preview the maps and topics in an HTML preview.
• Controlling "where used" on maps, topics and pictures.
• Allows you to automate workflows.
• User-authentication on a very granular level.
• Version history on maps, topics and pictures and.
• Publishing via different "publishing engines" (implemented i the standard solution).
  • Publishing via DITA Open Toolkit.
  • Publishing via a Microsoft Word engine on the server side.
  • Publishing via a "custom" publishing engine to e.g. XML and different HTML formats.

On top of all the existing features in MOSS.

IMPLEMENTATION

The standard DITA Exchange solution can be implemented - as a SaaS solution on our server - within 7 days (including end-user training). After this configuration and customization might be needed.

DITA Exchange will therefore allow the users to write DITA content within 30 days.

If the customer - later - wants to migrate the solution to an internal hosted solution; then the SaaS solution will get backed-up and restored at the internal hosted solution.

PRICING

DITA Exchange is sold on a per seat per month basis:

• €39 per user per month if the customer runs DITA Exchange on an internal hosted solution (the customer pays for the MOSS license) or
• €63 per user per month if the customer runs DITA Exchange as a SaaS solution on our server farm.
